Fixing PHP the hard way (Or, seeing the forest for the potholes)*
We need to make PHP better for usage. But how do we do that?
PHP has been broken for years. In fact, it’s the punching bag of the Web Dev world. But for being the punching bag, it holds up surprisingly well. Unfortunately, it’s broken and we need to fix it.
Due to PHP’s “Just build things on top of more things” mentality, the core of PHP is a hodgepodge. I would like to set a point for one way to start fixing PHP, making it more awesome, more secure and a better platform to build apps on.
I've spoken primarily at smaller, more personal events, but I am most definitely not shy with larger audiences.
I do webdev & stuff. I like to talk about things that interest me, and I hate seeing things be broken.
