Co-Founder of the International Transparency and Accountability Network (TrAcNet), a global, not-for-profit consortium of Social Activists, for ‘Better Self Administration’, through Community Centric Sustainable Development (http://TrAcNet.blogspot.com). Co-Founder of Life Line to Business (LL2B), an ICT organization, specializing in Innovation and e-Governance (http://ll2b.blogspot.com/). Registered as a DICON Consultant with the Asian Development Bank. Active member of UNDP – Solutions Exchange – Decentralization and ICT4D Community.
Developed and implemented “e-Administration”, a web enabled, platform neutral, paper-less Communication and Collaboration Tool, using open source tools, for right to information, transparency and accountability.
1. “Innovations 2009 Award” for implementing e-Administration: e-Platform for e-Governance, from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Alumni Association, Pune Chapter and The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE), Pune;
2. “Manthan Award 2006”, for pioneering work in “e-Inclusion and Livelihood”, for good governance in rural India. Executed a “Short term consultancy for submission of strategy paper and status report on ICTD interventions and National Rural Employment Guarantee Act implementation, to plug the learnings in the overall National e-Governance Plan of Govt. of India, for National Institute for Smart Government, for submission to UNDP and Rural Development Department, GOI.
Earlier, worked in various capacities in North / Central America / India. Held the post of Director of Productora Mexicana de Tuberia, Mexico, subsidiary of ISPAT International NV, from 1994-1999. Assisted the management in reviving a closed manufacturing company and achieve a turnaround in its operations, in short span of time; hands-on experience in obtaining ISO 9002.
Senior Manager and Staff Officer to CEO and Chairman, Steel Authority of India Limited, a leading Public Sector in India, for 2 years from 1992 to 1994, assisted the Chief Executive to achieve turnaround of SAIL in 1993.
Regional Manager of SAIL, Salem Steel Plant at New Delhi from 1990-92. Introduced the first domestic stainless steel coin blank supply through the indigenous route for the India Government Mints, thereby saving valuable foreign exchange in the manufacture of stainless steel coins. Liaised with the Corporate Office and Government of India, to obtain the sanction for installation of hot rolling stainless steel mill at Salem Steel Plant. Recipient of the prestigious “Jawaharlal Nehru Best Executive Award” in 1992. Grew up Management Trainee in 1977 to Senior Manager in SAIL and served in various administrative positions from 1979 to 1990.
Member of various professional bodies and social organizations; extensively traveled in India and abroad; holds post graduate degree; conducts workshops in anti-corruption, human rights, right to know, personality development, communication skills, self confidence, etc for students, teachers, professionals and citizens.
